As of last week Anthony can officially ride his trike, which is great news because he got his first bike for his birthday! Everyday he likes to go to the park and is always all about safety wearing his bug helmet. On this particular day he insisted on being a fireman and also insisted on wearing his fireman rain boots that were 2 1/2 sizes too small for him. Oh well. It's so much fun to see him growing and changing and becoming such a big boy!
On Friday the "Sand Man" finally made an appearance at our house dropping off a yard of sand for Anthony's new sandbox in the backyard. Anthony was anxiously awaiting the big truck being that the delivery kept getting pushed back due to the rainy weather. The yard of sand was dumped in our driveway and then we spent the rest of the afternoon hauling it to the backyard using the wheel barrow and A's wagon, which, coincidentally he needed to ride in and "help".
Last week A and I put on his serious finger painting gear and had some fun at the kitchen table. He was very into creating master piece after master piece and being careful to keep the paint on his plate and canvas. I'm still amazed how well he does with a project --- Play Doh, coloring, playing with cars, etc. --- and how it can keep his interest for a fair amount of time.
Last, but not least, is an update on the whole sleeping in a big boy bed and potty training efforts. It, surprisingly, is going so smoothly. Anthony has had zero problems transitioning to his toddler bed and is definitely more than ready to be rid of the crib. I'm also pleasantly surprised with his transition to going potty on the potty chair. I am now a firm believer in readiness for children. I think it was good we got a potty chair early on for him and showed him how to use it; however, with future kids I will never push it on him or her. Anthony truly has demonstrated that he gets it and does a really good job of letting us know when he has to go. Since switching over he's only had three accidents, which is pretty darn good. Today was his first week back to day care and I anticipated that he might forget to go potty and have an accident. I was super proud to find out he did just fine and always let Nae know when he had to go. I know there will definitely be ups and downs in this process, but I'm just so excited to see him getting it!
Hopefully it's okay and politically correct for little boys to go pee outside when we live in town. I think that might be his favorite place to pee.

Yeah for Anthony! He is such a big boy... crazy to think how much he has grown in front of us (in just a year and a half!) I love watching him 'grow' in pictures on the blog! :)
