We certainly had a friend-tastic past three days! It's been a great weekend of visiting with friends, catching up and getting the kids together to play.
On Friday night we were invited to the Feierabends for supper, playtime, and a combination of the Vikings first pre-season game and the opening ceremony of the Olympics. Luke and Jenn have had a busy, but wonderful July and it was nice to finally get our families together. Anthony enjoyed playing with Ry and Cam and all of their exciting toys. I loved having an opportunity to talk with Jenn as well as give lots of lovin' to my favorite Mr. Moose and Cam-a-roo.
On Saturday we traveled to Medina to finally spend time with the Hartmans. Matt, my former BSU roommate, and I have been emailing back and forth since March trying to find a weekend to get together that would work out for everyone. Again, it was great to catch up with Matt and Heidi, eat some delicious food and get the boys together. (This was their first time meeting A and only our second time seeing Luke in a year.) Time certainly has a way of flying by...
After dinner the boys enjoyed playing in the backyard. The pool was a lot of fun; however, Anthony really loved the playhouse that's full of toys and doors to go in and out of.
Today we joined up with the Gundersons - Eric, Amy, Ella and Will - and went to the Benton County Fair. Right away we checked out the barns and animals then the tractors and finally we headed for the rides. Anthony had a lot of fun and did really well in spite of being tired and falling asleep towards the end.
The tractors were definitely a highlight of the day. The kids enjoyed climbing up in all that were open and "driving".
Even though he looks pretty serious he really loved the merry-go-round and riding the horse.
The daring Gunderson family takes a spin on the Tilt-a-Whirl.

It is always so much fun to read about the exciting adventures of the Hanson family! Isn't it wonderful to have so much time for summer fun? We teachers are so lucky! But it always goes by too damn fast! I am almost down to my last week of part-time and I am dreading returning to FT at the end of the month! This mommy would also rather stay home. :)
