On Friday the Penders - Mason, Sara and Isla - came to Becker to visit, meet Anthony and spend the night at our house. It was GREAT to FINALLY meet Isla! (I cannot believe it has taken 16 months to do so!) It amazes me the difference three months makes when kids are little. When they grow up and are teenagers we won't even notice the difference; right now we do. Isla is just starting to feel more comfortable with walking while Anthony is running around and jumping. It was really fun to see them together!
Anthony and Isla hanging out in the kitchen. They spent a lot of time playing with the fun fridge magnets! (Thanks again Gundersons and Zimmers for the great gifts!)
They both snuggled next to Sara to hear Isla's favorite bedtime book. (Anthony was super squirmy, but in this photo he looks like a little angel!)
Good night, daddies! The kids gave kisses and said good night to the dads who were catching up and sharing new stories downstairs.
The highlight of the whole visit for me was talking with Sara after the kids went to bed. I completely enjoyed her honesty when she talked about being a mom as well as hearing how she balances her life with work and family. It was great to get caught up and even stay up way past our own bedtimes! Hopefully there will be more visits in the future. A trip over to Detroit Lakes this summer would be lots of fun.
